Michael Ravi Shankar

Michael Ravi Shankar, age 89, born on February 22, 1936 and passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Rachel Sushila Shankar: His children Linda (Chris), Gina, Gerry (Achara) and Ricky (Nic), 7 grandchildren (Joseph, Rachel, Thomas, Isaac, Elijah, London and Roman) and 2 great grandchildren (Isaiah and Amelia).

Michael was one of eight siblings, and most of his brothers and sisters are still with us today. He had a deep love for his family and was known for his warm, easygoing spirit.

A true jokester at heart, Michael brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He had a passion for casinos - especially blackjack - and never missed his weekly lottery ticket. One of his greatest pleasures was tending to his garden. Whether it was his vegetable garden, fruit trees, or carefully maintained landscape, he found peace and fulfillment in the soil and sunshine.

Michael greeted everyone with either a smile or a nod - always making sure people felt acknowledged and welcomed in his presence.

He is also survived by his beloved siblings, nieces, nephews, and extended family, who will carry forward his memory with love and laughter. He was deeply cherished and will be missed by all who knew him.

Services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2025 at Fry Memorial Chapel 550 S. Central Ave. Tracy, CA. Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:00 pm with a Celebration of Life starting at 2:00 pm. There will be a gathering after the services at Mariscos Los Altos 1005 E. Pescadero Ave. Tracy, CA. Please join the family for food and fellowship.
