Michael “Banister” Dean Shouse, 70, of Vancleave, MS passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026.

He was born on January 4, 1956, in Shelbyville, KY at King’s Daughter Hospital to Carl and Lois Shouse. He graduated from Taylorsville High School in Kentucky, Divers Institute of Technology for Commercial Diving, and MS Gulf Coast Community College. He was employed for Singing River Electric, Ingalls Shipbuilding, Martech Commercial Diving in Louisiana, and owned Gulf Coast Communications and Security. He served in the United States Air Force in Telecommunications Focus. He enjoyed being outdoors- camping, hiking, horseback riding, boating, woodworking, and traveling with his wife.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lois Shouse, and grandchild, Tylen Jacob Pinkston.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry Shouse; daughters, Marcia (Chris) Wolfe and Natashia (Rether) Griffin; grandchildren, Jacobi and Yoid Gomez, McKenna Wolfe, and Rether Griffin, Jr; siblings, Marcia Crowe, Mark Shouse, Mickey Shouse, and Joey Shouse; and his dog, Toby Keith.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Homes for our Troops.

The family would like to extend a thank you to all their family and friends and caretakers.
