Mr. Michael Smith of the Lock Seven Community was discovered deceased at his Sullivans Bend Community lake home on Monday morning May 27, 2024. He was pronounced deceased at 12:45 a.m. at Highpoint Health – Riverview Emergency Room, (formerly Riverview Regional Medical Center) at the age of 42 at 12:45 p.m. Monday afternoon.
Funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home were conducted by Michael's mother's pastor, Eld. Junior Dickerson. The services were Monday afternoon June 3rd at 1 p.m. with interment following beside his father in the Smith family lot in the Garden of Gethsemane at the Smith County Memorial Gardens.
The Smith family will receive friends on Monday June 3rd only from 10 a.m. until the funeral services at 1 p.m. at Sanderson in Carthage.
Mr. Smith was the only son of two children of Jeannette Hailey Smith of the Lock Seven Community and the late Raybon Kyle "Tedie" Smith who was discovered deceased on March 12, 1999 at the age of 58 in his automobile after suffering an apparent heart attack.
He was a member of the 1999 graduating class at Smith County High School.
Choosing the restaurant industry as a career, he was a member of the wait staff at Demo's in Lebanon before working in the Deli at the Sav-Way Super Market for Todd and Angela Scurlock.
He was saved in 2020 while working in Crossville and was baptized by a Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother, Jeannette, is his son, Kasper Smith of Centerville, Tennessee;
and a sister, Liane Smith Miller, who just lost her husband Casey to cancer Saturday afternoon May 25th
