Michael David Smith Sr.

Michael David Smith, Sr., 79, of Bordentown, New Jersey passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Edward and Catherine (nee Long) Smith, Michael was a resident of Bordentown for the last 20 years. Michael attended Villanova for a time before entering the United States Air Force where he proudly served during the Vietnam War. Prior to retiring, Michael was employed by the State of New Jersey as a Director of Risk Management. Michael was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed reading, especially about history. Most important were times spent with family. Whether it was a family get together, trip to the shore, showing off his skills at Trivial Pursuit, or telling Gremlin stories to his grandchildren, this time was cherished.

Beloved husband of 57 years to Geraldine (nee Szewczak); devoted father of Jennifer Hellman, Michael Smith, Jr. (partner Debra Fatovic), and Kelly Ringgold (Timothy); cherished grandfather of Delaney Hellman-Wilker (Addison), Jacob Hellman, Jordan Hellman, Jeremy Smith, Abby Ringgold, Madison Hellman, David Smith, Maya Ringgold, Lucas Ringgold and great grandfather to be of 1 great grandson and 1 great granddaughter; dear brother of Edward Smith (Linda), Stephen Smith (Mimi), the late Phillip Smith, Timothy Smith (Sue), and Carolyn Ramsey.. Michael is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws.

Family and friends are invited to attend Michael's visitation on Saturday, December 27 from 10:00-11:00 am at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 260 High Street, Mount Holly, NJ 08060. A funeral mass will follow at 11:00 am.
