GREENVILLE -- Michael Charles Snyder, age 81, of Greenville, OH passed away on March 2, 2026 at Upper Valley Medical Center. He was born on November 10, 1944 in Dayton, OH to the late Charles and Josephine Ada (Schmoyer) Snyder.
Michael is survived by his wife of 31 years: Vicki L. (Floyd) Snyder of Greenville; daughters: Christina (Daniel) Hursh of St. Charles, MN and Melissa Grazioso of Troy, OH; son: Benjamin Michael (Liz Perez) Snyder of St. Charles, MN; grandchildren: Zachary, Emily, and Sarah Hursh, and Esai Perez-Snyder; and sister-in-law: Sondra Snyder. In addition to his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister: Carol Jo Maupin; and brother: Roger Snyder.
Michael was a 1962 graduate of Walter E. Stebbins High School. He went on to earn his Associates of Arts and Associates of Business degrees from Sinclair Community College. Michael proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Radioman 2nd class from 1963-1967. He also served as an Eagle Scout, earning the God and Country Award. He was employed with Mercer Savings Bank in 1988.
Michael was Past President of The Greenville Sertoma Club, earning "Sertoman of the Year Award" in 1995. He also served on many civic boards including: United Way, Greenville Public Access, Chamber of Commerce Board as member and Ambassador, Main Street Greenville, Big Brothers & Big Sisters, American Red Cross, and Character Council. Michael's committee memberships included: Youth for Christ Golf, Friends of Scouting, and Edison State Scholarship Fund Drive. Michael was also a judge for Whirlpool Corp. Son's and Daughter's Scholarship.
Michael was Past Worshipful Master of Versailles Lodge No. 290 F&AM from 1996-2010 and 2013-2014. He was the Past Excellent High Priest of the Greenville and Franklin Chapters of Royal Arch Masons. Michael was the Past Illustrious Master of Matchett Council of Royal and Select Masons. He was the Past Eminent Commander of Sidney Commandery of Knights Templar from 2022-2024. Michael was the recipient of the Knight York Cross of Honor. He was also Past President of the Third Masonic District.
Michael was a member of Greenville Masonic Lodge, West Milton Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis Club, Versailles "32" Club, and Good Shepard United Methodist Church in Mad River Township.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Fish Choice Pantry of Darke County.
