Michael Sparago Obituary
Michael was born to Ben and Syd Sparago in Brooklyn, NY and attended James Madison High School.
He received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and later earned his MD from the Chicago Medical School.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Dr. Sparago, or "Doc", as he was known, served as a battalion surgeon during the Vietnam War in 1966 with the 1 Battalion, 14 Infantry Regiment. He was stationed in Pleiku and achieved the rank of captain.
After returning to the U.S., Dr. Sparago worked at Hudson Valley Hospital in Cortlandt Manor, NY, where he remained in private practice for over 35 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jena and daughter, Marta.
A private Jewish funeral service was held at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor, NY.
