Michael "Mick" V. Spitznagle, age 63, of Delphi, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at IU Health.
Mick was born on July 2, 1961, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Bernard and Mary Spitznagle, and grew up on a farm near there before making his home along the Tippecanoe River in Delphi-a place he dearly loved and where he found peace.
A 1979 graduate of Central Catholic High School, Mick later earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from IUPUI in Indianapolis. He had an incredible gift for repair work-there was hardly anything he couldn't take apart and fix.
Mick enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved squirrel and mushroom hunting, fishing, and golfing. He had a special fondness for tuna and noodles, his mom's chocolate cake, the movie Secondhand Lions, and watching The Andy Griffith Show.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Kloe; son Augie Arth; and dear friend Esther Arth. Also surviving are his siblings Don, Dave (Judy), and Rich (Retta) Spitznagle; sisters Janice (Jack Haan), Karen (Jim Hilker), Ann (Jim Crisp), and Marilyn Butcher; brother-in-law Fred Haan (Bonnie); and sister-in-law Nancy Spitznagle.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Judy Haan, brother John Spitznagle, sister-in-law JoAnne Spitznagle, and niece Meghan Glynn.
Mick will be remembered for his quiet strength, and his love for nature and family. He lived a peaceful life on the river, surrounded by the things and people he cherished most.
Services will be private. Donations may be made in Mick's memory to a charity of your choice.
