Michael LaVerne Sprau Jr., 57, of Manchester Michigan passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 3, 1967, in Wayne, Michigan to Michael and Katherine (Ross) Sprau. Michael graduated from Belleville High School where he was a football quarterback and catcher for the baseball team. Even after a critical car accident, Michael was still a sports enthusiast. He played wheelchair basketball for many years, winning the national championship in 1997 as well as participating in many international competitions. Michael married the love of his life, Linda Marie (Schneider), on May 31, 1997, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He enjoyed spending time with his family and coaching sports for his children. Michael also loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and shooting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend.
Michael will be missed by his wife Linda; his children, Lauren and Michael III; brother, Brian Harvey; many cousins especially, Little Ernie, Billy, Todd, Stephen, and Krissy; uncles, Big Ernie, Kenny, and Richard; aunts, Shirley and Marlene; nieces, Payton and Kelsee; and grandchild baby Sprau. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth Ross and Mary "Elizabeth" Gould; parents Michael and Katherine; and aunt, Peggy.
