Kenneth Shevrovich, a long time resident of St. Johns, Michigan, died on May 9, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on April 15, 1937, in Belleville, Michigan, Ken was one of eleven children born to Matt and Nettie (Day) Shevrovich. He grew up in Belleville and graduated from Belleville High School before proudly serving his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps.
After returning from service, Ken worked building travel trailers before beginning a long and steady career as a press operator at Federal Mogul in St. Johns, where he eventually retired. On June 29, 1962, he married Sheila Barbour in Hell, Michigan and always quipped it was "heaven ever since."
In retirement, Ken stayed active transporting vehicles from auctions for the Sundance automotive dealership. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent countless joyful hours hunting and fishing. He especially treasured his time at the family hunting camp in Montmorency County and at their property on Chippewa Lake in Mecosta County.
A devoted fan of the Detroit Tigers, the Red Wings, and University of Michigan football, Ken rarely missed a game. But above all, he loved his family-his wife Sheila, their son, his many brothers and sisters, and the dozens of nieces and nephews with whom he shared strong, lasting bonds. Ken had a special way with kids, always ready with a smile, a joke, a great story, or a playful greeting. Affectionately known as "Trouble," he was famous for greeting friends and family alike with his signature, "What's up, Trouble?" Ken will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded by Sheila, his beloved wife of over fifty-five years in 2018, and a daughter, Suzie. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny, Doug, George, Matthew Jr., William, Conrad, Marvin, Dennis & Jimmy, and sister, Barb.
He is survived by his son, Billy Shevrovich, a host of nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Visitation will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, on Wednesday, May 14, from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 15, at 11AM with Pastor Paul Snyder officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery, St. Johns.
Memorials may be made in his name to Hospice House of Shiawassee County 2005 E. Copas Road, Owosso, MI 48867.
