Michael Joseph St. Cyr, 69, of Bellaire, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Meadow Brook Medical Care Facility in Bellaire. He was born on March 3, 1956, in Royal Oak, Michigan to Claude and Gwen St. Cyr.
The family lived in Clawson where he graduated from Clawson High School in 1974. Mike went to Specs Howard School of Media Arts earning a degree in Broadcast Engineering. Afterwards he went to work for Goodrich Broadcasting as their chief engineer for many years living in Lansing, then Grand Rapids. While there he met his future wife who was adopting a child from Haiti. Together they went to pick up their six-month old baby girl, Maella. From the beginning she has been Mike's pride and joy.
While in Grand Rapids, Mike bought an R&B radio station, WJNZ, 1140 Jamz that he operated until the poor economy forced him to sell in 2009. Leaving the broadcasting field he began selling cars for Preferred Ford in Grand Haven where he did very well as the top salesman for the dealership.
Growing up, Mike spent many summers in Bellaire staying with his grandparents, Tony and Irene St. Cyr. This is where he became an avid sportsman and loves fishing, hunting, boating and snowmobiling. He bought property on Intermediate River and spent time there doing all that he enjoyed. Michael spent the last 10 years of his life at Meadowbrook, and he enjoyed participating in many activities while he was there.
Michael is survived by three sisters, Bonnie St. Cyr of Bellaire, Toni (John) Pearson of Clarkston, MI, and Lynette (Ken) Storm of Metamora, MI; his brother, Tom St. Cyr of Bellaire; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two nephews, Rick Sellers, and John Pearson Jr.
