Michael D. Stillion, 83, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, in Houston, Texas. He was born on March 17, 1942, in Portland, Oregon, the youngest child of Clem and Ruth Stillion.

A proud and dedicated veteran, Michael served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and later continued his military career with the Army National Guard, including active duty during Operation Desert Storm. While stationed in Honolulu during Desert Storm, Michael met the love of his life, Elizabeth MacCallum, beginning a lifelong partnership filled with laughter, faith, and unwavering love.

In the 1980s and 1990s, Michael was actively involved in advocacy and support for prisoners of war (POWs), working tirelessly to ensure they were remembered and honored. His life reflected a deep sense of service - not only to his country, but to the individuals and causes he believed in.

Michael will be remembered for his quiet strength, great sense of humor, and deep devotion to faith, family, and country. He lived by a simple but powerful principle: to leave people better than he found them. His kindness, wit, and ability to bring out the best in others touched countless lives.

Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Stillion, and their seven children - lovingly known by Michael as "The Magnificent Seven": Michael Stillion, Cameron Stillion, Michele Stillion, Daniel Stillion, James Stillion, Sean Stillion, and Kaitlin Stillion. He also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. Michael's greatest achievement in life was being a father.

Michael also leaves his oldest brother, Tom Stillion. He is predeceased by his brother, Jerry Stillion, parents, Clem and Ruth Stillion, and his stepfather, Walt Powell.

Military Honor will be provided at a Graveside service that will be held on Monday, September 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Dr, Houston. Following the interment, a memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 505 Deseret Drive in Friendswood, Texas.

In honor of Michael's joyful spirit and his love for Hawaii, the family invites guests to wear Hawaiian shirts or bright colors.

The family kindly asks that donations in Michael's memory may be made to https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ or a veterans' organization of your choice.
