Michael Joseph Taylor

Michael Joseph Taylor, age 71, peacefully left this world with his wife at his side on December 14, 2025, at UPMC Hamot Hospital after a long illness.

He was born on April 17, 1954, in Wheeling, WV, one of ten children to the late George Hersey and Katherine Clementine (Kilver) Taylor.

After graduation from Wheeling Central Catholic High School, Michael would serve our country in the United States Navy.

He was a loving, gentle, and caring person. He was a shining light in the lives of all who knew him.

As the best husband anyone could ask for, Michael not only cherished his beloved wife, Diane, but also exemplified what it meant to love unconditionally. Michael had a remarkable ability to tackle any task thrown his way.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Kay.

He leaves behind to cherish him in memory, his loving wife of 22 years, Diane (Ruzzier) Taylor; his daughter, Kate and her husband, Marcus and son, Michael and his wife, Erin; step-children, Rachel and her husband, Chuck, Jessica and Daniel and his wife, Marsha; 15 grandchildren and seven siblings.

Friends are invited to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Road, for a 12:00 P.M. memorial service on Friday, April 17, 2026, which would have been Michael’s 72nd birthday. Full Military Honors will follow.
