Lake City - Michael "Mike" Teschner, of Lake City, passed away at home with family on Monday, October 28, 2024, after a long hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 70.
Mike was born on October 21, 1954, in Columbus, Ohio to Rudolph and Anastasia (Gudaitis) Teschner. On July 9, 2019, Mike entered into marriage with the former Tina Marie (Dever) Sundell, overlooking the mountains in Sevier County, TN.
Mike had a long and impressive work resume. He began working in the oil fields over 48 years ago and never looked back. Mike had the pleasure and ability of working with notable companies such as, Sun Oil Company, Oryx, Quicksilver, Bright-Burn, Cobra and Riverside. Mike began his career working in Odessa, Texas and eventually covered much of the country helping out the industry. Mike gained many titles over his years in the oil field from Roustabout and Drill Collar Inspector, to Gang Pusher, Truck Driver, Lease Operator, and Plan Operator, Mike covered just about all of it.
However, his favorite, most noteworthy, and proudest title was "Best Pa Ever"! Mike was an avid fisherman, who enjoyed every moment on the water. He was a loving father, papa, husband, and friend to so many. His hard work and never give up attitude was an inspiration to all. He could often be spotted enjoying a cruise in his Ford Mustang and will be remembered and missed by many.
Mike is survived by his loving wife, Tina Teschner of Lake City; his children, Jami (Ben) Bigger, Tyler (Kailey) Murray, and Heather (Travis) Navarre; his beloved and cherished grandchildren, Beckham, Baylor, and Bryce Bigger; his sister, Susan Teschner; his brother, Thomas (Michelle) Teschner; as well as many other loving family members, friends, and former co-workers. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Charles Teschner; and tragically both his first wife, Sara Jane Teschner and son, Luke Teschner, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in 1995.
Funeral services will be held at The Grove Church in Lake City, located at 3815 S. Morey Road, in Lake City, on Friday November 1, 2024 at 12:00 noon, with visitation for friends and family beginning at 10:00 am. Officiating will be Pastor Herb Helsel. Please come as you are and help celebrate Mike's well lived life. Following the time at the church friends and family are encouraged to join the family at the Lake City TapHouse located at 181 Morey Rd. in
Lake City, MI 49651, to celebrate Mike's memory.
