Michael David Thomas II, age 38, passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2023. He was born November 24, 1984, in Medina, Ohio, to Michael David and Sheila Lee (nee Shumaker) Thomas. Michael was a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, and his memory will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone who knew him-the love of his life, Ashley Vodicka; mother, Sheila Thomas; his boys, Amere Walker and Anthony Veliz; sisters, Angela Thomas, Brittany Thomas, and Kayla Thomas; aunt, Barbara; many nieces and nephews; a great-nephew; best friends, Sean, Gary, Squeak, and Brittani; and more friends than can be counted. He also leaves behind his dogs, Pookie, Django, and Chubb; and his chameleon, Juice. He joins in heaven his father, Michael; and his favorite dog, MooMoo.
Michael was a diehard Cleveland and Ohio State sports fan. He was also an avid golfer. Above all, he was a kind and generous man who loved his family and friends.
Please join the family on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Waite & Son Funeral Home, 3300 Center Road, Brunswick, to honor Michael's life. He will be laid to rest privately.

Mike was a great guy and best friend to my son Gary who did roofing with him for many years. He was a hard worker who could be depended on to get the job done with my son, we met him many times over our house and always was happy to see us. We are so sorry to hear of your loss, but thankful that our son had such a great friendship with Mike ,he truly will be missed by all. Gary Sr. & Sandi Tischler

I only knew Mike for a short time, only being with IX for a year, and only knowing him through work but he was always nice to me and did his very best to brighten everyone´s day around him. The type of guy to say good morning and mean it. The world is a lesser place without him, my condolences to his family and friends.

Mike was ALWAYS upbeat never negative and enjoyed his job at IX. I always looked forward to seeing him. This man did everything right in life. I sure will miss his positive energy. Always willing to go the extra mile. It says how do I know him, well they work but considered him a friend.

Mic has always been a genuinely good person since I met him and the world has suffered a huge loss. I appreciate the love and friendship he gave my son and my son´s father. He has earned a permanent place in my son´s heart and he will miss his Uncle Mic dearly.

No other human on this earth will have an impact on my life like he did. He was loyal to the core, and picked you up when you were down. He was more than just my best friend, he was my big brother. I love you Mic
