Michael Jon Thornham

Michael Jon Thorham, age 71, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024. He was born is Phoenix at St. Joseph's Hospital. Growing up his family shared a lifelong love for horses, collies, and ice hockey. Together they spent the cool summers on the beaches of San Diego. In 1971, he completed his scouting adventures as an Eagle Scout, with training at Camp Geronimo, and graduated from Central High School that same year.
Michael attended Northern Arizona University, where he played ice hockey and majored in Finance. A proud member of the business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, he remained actively involved throughout his college years. He graduated in 1975 with a degree in Business Finance, achieving the honor of graduating first in his class.
Shortly after graduation, Michael began working with his father, Bert, and brother, Bruce, in the family business, Bert's Paint. He later became the owner and president of Bert's Paint and Sunburst Coatings, dedicating his life to his work and taking great pride in its success. He was also a strong supporter of organizations that promote small business.
In 1975, Michael married his college sweetheart in a lovely backyard wedding and together they were blessed with two beautiful children. They shared a joyful marriage of 49 years.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Lois, his daughter Michelle, son Chad (Jenna), granddaughter Elliette, brother Bruce (Patricia), and nieces Patricia and Kara. He was predeceased by his parents, Albert, and Winifred.
