Michael "Mike" Thumann, a man whose presence brought warmth, love, and joy to all who knew him, passed away on February 17, 2025. Born on February 10, 1954, in Houston, Texas, to Wanda and Calvin Thumann, Mike's journey was marked by deep connections, unwavering passions, and a legacy that will continue to inspire.
On June 10, 1978, Mike married his soulmate, Dianne. Their union was a testament to true partnership and love, working side by side in the family printing business alongside his parents. Together, they built not only a livelihood, but also a home filled with laughter, support, and cherished memories.
Mike's love for the outdoors was evident to all who knew him. Whether he was deer hunting in the early morning mist or casting a line into tranquil waters, nature was his sanctuary. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life and often shared his passion for cooking with family and friends, creating meals that were as hearty as they were plentiful.
Family was the cornerstone of Mike's life. He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Bodungen and her husband, Clint; his son, Sean Thumann; and his beloved grandchildren, Caleb and Connor Bodungen, who brought immense pride and joy to his days.
As we remember Mike, we also honor those who preceded him in death: his cherished wife, Debra Dianne Thumann; his brother, Anthony Thumann; his mother, Wanda Spates Thumann; his father, Calvin Thumann; and his twin sons, Christopher Allen and David Michael Thumann.
Mike's passing leaves a void that words cannot fill. Yet, as we honor his memory and reflect on his life, we are reminded of the indelible mark he left on our hearts. His legacy of love, dedication, and passion will continue to guide and inspire us.
