Michael Tondalo Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by North Haven Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 30, 2026.
Michael R. Tondalo, 51, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at his residence. He was born on December 19, 1974, in New Haven, Connecticut. He was the son of Susan O'Neill Daum and the late Stephen M. Tondalo. He was a1993 graduate of North Haven High School and was a resident of his hometown until moving to Florida in 2005. Michael had an infectious enthusiasm for life. His favorite holidays- Christmas and Halloween brought out his playful, imaginative side. He had a gift for transforming ordinary moments into celebrations, especially through his love of anything electronic and lights. Whether it was a glowing holiday display or a new gadget he was tinkering with, Michael found delight in bringing brightness to the world around him and was able to fix most anything. Music was one of his greatest passions. He cherished his guitar, loved karaoke, and never hesitated to share his voice with anyone within earshot. His neighbors could hear him singing from across the road, and they embraced the joy and personality he poured into every note. His music wasn't just sound-it was an expression of his spirit. Above all, Michael loved his family. They were the center of his world, the source of his greatest pride, and the recipients of his boundless affection. His warmth, humor, and unmistakable presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Michael's legacy lives on in the laughter he inspired, the light he created, and the love he gave so freely. Aside from his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Lois O'Neill; paternal grandparents, Anthony and Filomena Tondalo; uncle and aunt, Robert and Kathleen O'Neill; uncles, Anthony Tondalo and Anthony Ciarleglio; his adored cousin and best friend, Chrissie; as well as his beloved dog, Mikey. Michael is survived by his loving mother and step-father, Susan and Stephen Daum; step-mother, Karen Tondalo; two brothers, Stephen Tondalo and his wife, Colleen and Jeffrey Tondalo; nephew and niece Raymond and Caprice; aunts and uncles, Dennis Tondalo and his wife, Wanda and Maryann Ciarleglio; four cousins, Christopher, Dennis, Tina and Sabrina; as well as many extended family members and friends.

The visiting hours will be Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. A Catholic Parlor Service will be at 4:00 PM. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
