Frank T. Funaro Jr. 68, of New York City, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19,2026 at Yale New Haven Hospital/ St Raphael Campus with his brother by his side. After a courageous battle with cancer. Frank was born in New Haven on September 10, 1957, and was the son of the late Frank T. Funaro, Sr and Nellie Sampieri Funaro. He was a graduate of North Haven High School, Class of 1975 and received his Bachelors Degree from Megill University in Montreal. He spent most of his 40-year career in the health care field in Communications for Patient Advocacy, the last 10 years working for Rx 4 good. Frank is survived by his loving brother James and sister-in-law, Susan Funaro, and his adoring niece, Michelle, all of North Haven, and by several cousins and friends. He is also survived by his very special and close friends who were like family to Frank, Gail McMillian and her husband Robin, who were Frank's care givers during the early days of his illness, as well as their daughters, Madeleine and Lily, all of New York City.

Private services have been entrusted to The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home 36 Washington Ave North Haven. A Celebration of Frank's life will be announced at a later date. Should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's memory may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center PO Box 27106 New York, New York. 10087, or to a charity of one's choice
