Michael Tondreau Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home on Feb. 21, 2026.
ROCHESTER ---- Michael Joseph Tondreau, passed away suddenly from complications of declining health and a recent illness, on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at his home in Rochester, NH, just weeks shy of his 61st birthday.

He was born to Robert G. Tondreau and Phyllis L. (Devoll) Tondreau of Milford, MA. Mike eventually settled in Rochester, NH where he raised his three children: Kayla, Corey, and Kyle.

Mike proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Upon returning to civilian life, he began a career in carpentry. Throughout his career, he worked for several construction companies prior to starting his own construction business. He talked often of his time working on the "Big Dig" project in Boston, MA while part of the Carpenter's Union. Mike was most proud of building the home where he would go on to raise his family on Quarry Drive in Rochester, NH.

He took pride in working with his hands contributing to something larger than himself. His best, biggest, and favorite creation being his three children. Home movies and old photo albums reflect a man completely devoted to the role of fatherhood. Mike's propensity for silliness was childlike in its scope and is directly responsible for much of the laughter found in the Tondreau family archives. Mike's ability to entertain and to make people laugh are among the more common qualities mentioned by those that knew him. Hardship was frequent in Mike's later years, yet he always managed to sprinkle joy and lightheartedness into every phone call or room he walked into.

In his younger years, Mike enjoyed spending time on the golf course, as well as bowling, playing cribbage, and challenging you to a game of pool. Among all of Mike's hobbies and interests, New England sports fandom was the loudest. He treated every football Sunday, every Red Sox inning, Bruins' overtime, and Celtics playoff run as a matter of civic responsibility. Mike coached his son's baseball team and daughter's softball team - this was a major source of pride for him as a father. Mike loved watching his kids compete and perform across various sports and activities, in addition to volunteering as a chaperone for school field trips. Mike never let an opportunity pass to remind his children how proud of them he was. His protectiveness, support, guidance, loyalty, and unconditional love are traits his children will forever cherish. Mike had a true gift for storytelling, captivating any audience he was given, and our hope is to honor him by keeping his story alive.

Mike is survived by his ex-wife of 19 years, Gayle, and their three children: Kayla and her husband, Nick, of Dover; Corey Carr and her husband, Pat, of Rochester, and Kyle, also of Dover; two grandchildren: Amenadiel Tondreau and Josie Carr; brothers Kenneth D'Allessandro of Milford, MA, David D'Allessandro of Cocoa Beach, FL, and Dusty Tondreau of Arizona; sisters Roberta Tassone of Gardner, MA, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his mother and father, Robert G. and Phyllis L. Tondreau; his brothers Norman D'Allessandro of Ft. Pierce, FL and Robert (Bobby) Tondreau of Cocoa Beach. FL; his sisters Mary Ghelli of Milford, MA, Carol D'Allessandro of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Susan Delisio (Tondreau) of Winthrop, MA.
