Michael C Towey, 54, of Beverly passed away Tuesday, February 20, in Salem, Mass., surrounded by those who loved him. He was Born on March 19, 1970, in Salem Massachusetts.
Michael attended Claude H. Patten Trade School Vocational High School and graduated in 1988 focusing on custom cabinetry. Michael then went on to pursue employment with Crystal Steel Corp., in Middleton, Massachusetts where he worked for 32 years.
Michael loved everything about New England. He would enjoy weekends riding ATV's and going on canoe trips on the Saco River with his lifelong good friends. He would spend many weekends at the family campground in New Hampshire. Michael was a passionate New England sports fan; he never missed a Patriots game or a Bruins game, and he would often attend Sunday games at Gillette Stadium with his uncle. Michael enjoyed many different types of hobbies including NASCAR, auto repair, fishing and was an avid collector of many things. He enjoyed snowmobiling and working on building projects with his father.
Michael spent the last 30 years being a loving and devoted father to his two children, Kaitlyn, and Justin. He would spend many weekends with them in Maine, along with his parents. He loved to be in nature. Michael supported his children in anything they did, during the summer months you could find him watching his son compete in Mountain bike races. He adored his daughter, and they would often enjoy talking about music, cars and would often take rides together. He found joy in spending time with his two delightful grandsons and talking to them about cars and building Legos.
Michael was predeceased by his mother Mary Lou (Murphy) whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his parents John and Dawn Towey; His brothers Ryan and Scott Towey; His two children, Justin, his son; and Kaitlyn, his daughter, and her husband, Christopher; and his two grandchildren Easton and Myles. His niece and nephew, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Michael will be deeply missed by all the people he loved and cared for and his infectious laugh will be forever cherished by individuals that knew him. He was truly a selfless man, and his endless kindness and compassion will never be forgotten. Michael was a beloved son, father, grandfather, nephew, uncle, and friend he will live on in our memories forever.
