In Loving Memory of Michael Alison Tsosie

May 14, 1983 – September 1, 2025

It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we share the passing of Michael Alison Tsosie, who left this world far too soon at the age of 42, on September 1, 2025.

Michael was born to Charlene Dennison and David Tsosie at NAS Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, Washington - the beginning of a life filled with creativity, compassion, humor, and heart. After graduating from Oak Harbor High School, Michael earned a degree in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Seattle.

He had a passion for food and believed in its power to bring people together. Michael worked as a chef at many restaurants throughout his life, always bringing care, creativity, and connection to his work. He held especially fond memories of his time at Bayleaf in Oak Harbor, where he built lasting friendships and deepened his love of hospitality. Most recently, Michael worked at SPiN Cafe, where he was able to combine his culinary skills with his desire to serve others - helping community members in meaningful and compassionate ways.

He was proud of his Navajo heritage and carried that part of his identity with deep respect. His culture, values, and sense of community were reflected in the way he lived - with generosity, strength, and a deep appreciation for family.

From an early age, Michael brought light and laughter into the lives of those around him. Known for his quick wit, kind soul, and deeply thoughtful nature, he had a rare gift for making others feel loved, understood, and at ease. Whether through a joke, a listening ear, or a quiet act of kindness, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

A creative spirit through and through, Michael found joy in music, writing, reading, films, and art. He loved storytelling and self-expression, and he appreciated the beauty in the world - often pointing it out for others to see. He also cherished life's simple pleasures: attending concerts, days at the beach, cheering at baseball games, savoring good food, and spending meaningful time with family.

Michael is survived by his loving mother, Charlene Dennison (Robert H. Scott III); sisters Sheila Dennison (Michael Prophet) and Cheryl Bermejo; brother Gabriel Tsosie; nieces Chastity Dennison and Shiloh Tsosie; nephews Jeremy Bermejo (Erin), Calvin Dennison, Jasper Dennison, and Jax Prophet; great-niece Daliah Bermejo; great-nephew Sawyer Johnson; and his father, David Tsosie (Gudie).

Though he has left us far too soon, the love, laughter, and light Michael shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His legacy is one of compassion, creativity, cultural pride, and a deep appreciation for the people and moments that made life meaningful.

Michael's life will be honored in the following way: funeral home visitation Thursday September 18th, 2025 from 4pm to 6pm at Wallin-Stucky Funeral home. Funeral service on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 10 am, St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Oak Harbor, Washington.

All who knew and loved Michael are invited to attend and honor his memory.
