Mike had a zeal for life. He never knew a stranger. His outgoing and kind personality not only contributed to his successful career over the years, but more importantly created for him a reputation of being thoughtful, intentional, personable, and generous. Despite living states away from his sons the majority of their lives, Mike maintained deliberate connection with them, indicative of his deep and supportive love.
Mike is survived by his sons, Brett Usina of Miami, FL, Joel (Abbie) Usina of Fort Wayne, IN, and Derik Usina of Fort Wayne; his grandchildren, Elaylah (10), Silas (9), and Joylin (7); his siblings, Tim (Kathy) Usina of Fairland, IN, Terry Usina of Lawrence, KS, Laurie Usina of Fort Wayne, and Steve (Brenda) Usina of Tega Cay, SC.
There will be a memorial celebration service for Mike on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Northeast Christian Church in Fort Wayne (4900 Stellhorn Road, 46815), followed by a continued celebration on the second floor of Club Soda (235 E Superior St, Fort Wayne, IN 46802) beginning at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend both.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation (t2t.org) and New Mercies Ministries (new-mercies.org) in memory of Mike.

I went to high school. I always respected and how he carried himself. I'm sorry to just learn of his passing. He always was special.

I am truly so sorry that Mike has left us...I worked with Mike during my years working for NMMA and doing boat shows. Mike always had a smile on his face and was one of the happiest & nicest person I've ever known. He will be making everyone smile in heaven.
