Glenn Russell Hersey, 67, of St. Augustine, Florida, passed away on September 11, 2025, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 10, 1958, in St. Augustine, Glenn was a lifelong resident of St. Johns County, who owned and operated his own business for 40 years. He began his career as a master mason in the construction industry, where he earned a reputation for excellence and integrity. Glenn later went on to own and operate Hersey Tractor Service, proudly continuing exceptional quality work throughout the community he loved. A true outdoorsman, Glenn found joy in hunting, fishing, cooking meats in the smoker, and roasting oysters with his family. Even as his health declined, Glenn remained active and took up fly tying and ammunition loading to stay engaged with the hobbies he loved. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Glenn's toughness and work ethic never wavered. He continued working through his illness for as long as he could-because that's just the way he was. Glenn gave his life to Christ in 1991 and was a longtime member of Church on the Rock. He found strength in his relationship with God and never shied away from sharing his faith with others. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Teresa Yelvington Hersey; daughter, Jamie Outley (Derek); son, Pastor Josh Hersey (Lauren); mother, Myrt Rossi; sister, Sheila Cochran (Troy); brothers, Charles Hersey, Rick Hersey (Sandra), and Darrell Hersey (Christina); grandchildren, Janelle Davis (Jonathan), Carter Hersey, Katie Hersey, Owen Outley (Gracie), and Nadia Outley; and great-grandchildren, Nova and Eden Davis. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard E. Hersey. A celebration of Glenn's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Anastasia Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions in Glenn's memory can be made to Gideons International St. Augustine Camp, PO Box 2205, St. Augustine, FL 32085 Glenn will be remembered for his faith, his strong work ethic, his love for family and the outdoors.
