Michael "Mike" Vega, 50, of Miami, Florida, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2024, joining his loving father in eternal rest.
Mike was born on September 26, 1973 at Barnert hospital in Paterson, New Jersey.
At the age of five, Mike moved to Westminster, California where he spent most of his childhood until he moved to Miami, Florida in February of 1988. Mike attended Southwest High School (Class of 1991) and later graduated from Florida State University (FSU, class of 1997) with a degree in Social Science & Geography. Mike was an extremely dedicated person who believed in having a strong work ethic, which lead him to work for Worldwide Safe & Vault for over 26 years.
Mike enjoyed the outdoors and love to spend time kayaking, hiking, and exploring. He particularly enjoyed his camping trips to Peace River with his friends. His love of kayaking, and exploring, took him to the Florida Keys on many adventures. He also shared a love for plants and trees with his mom and dad. Many friends and family hold such fun, loving memories of Mike. He was extremely charismatic and loved to make everyone laugh. He was the producer and main actor of his own show, "The Michael Vega Show" which he stated would be on syndication.
Mike was an amazing son, brother and uncle to his family.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Alvaro Vega. Survived by his mother, Emily Vega, sister Susan Blanco, brother-in-law, Mario Blanco, nephew, Mario A. Blanco, two nieces Madison and Melanie, Blanco, and his longtime girlfriend, Mari Carrion. He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
