Michael John Verdick, 52 of Winona, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2024 during heart surgery at the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis. Mike was born on April 16, 1972, in Winona to Robert and Donna (Becker) Verdick.
He was married for a short time to Bobbie Hanson of Wabasha. They later divorced.
One of Mikes greatest joys was spending time with his family. Daughter, Ashley (Jon) Moritz; and his grandkids, Alexzander, Xxaviar, and Adalee Moritz; his sons, Matthew and Jacob (Tara) Verdick.
Some of Mike's favorite things in life were working on race cars, watching his nephew, Jeremy Werner, race at Mississippi Thunder Speedway, playing darts, seeing his grandkids, and spending time with his many friends. He was known for his love of karaoke, where he could often be found belting out his favorite tunes and bringing smiles to faces with his infectious energy. His passion for singing and dancing lit up every room he entered. Special thanks to his Aunt, Judy Disher, and close friends Jerome Geirok, Cameron Hawkings, Jackie Sammon, and Brent Larson. Also, thank you to his sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Don Werner for making it possible for Mike to go to the races.
Mike died too soon, but is finally free of pain.
He is survived by his children, Ashley (Jon) Moritz, Matthew Verdick, and Jacob (Tara) Verdick; grandchildren, Alexzander, Xxavier, and Adalee Moritz; his parents, Robert and Donna Verdick; sister, Christine (Don) Werner and their children, Jeremy and Jordyn Werner; godmother, Charlotte Bronk, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
We miss you Mike. -Love mom & dad.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
