Michael C. Walp, known affectionately as "Walpy" to friends and coworkers, a lifelong Bucks County and longtime Warminster resident, passed away surrounded by the love of his family, in the comfort of his own home on October 8, 2024. He was 67. Mike was born on October 16, 1956 in Bristol, Pennsylvania to the late William Walp, Sr. and the late Ida Mae Walp (nee – Garrison). He is the beloved husband of Tina Marie Walp (nee – Angstadt); father of Ryan Walp and Erik Walp and his wife Kiley; grandfather of Maddox Michael and Kolby Ryan; brother of William Walp, Jr. and his wife Marianne, Barbara Coccia, and Virginia Amistadi; he is also survived by a loving extended family and many friends.
Michael was born, raised, and educated in Bristol Township, a Class of 1974 graduate of Delhaas High School. Upon graduation from high school, Michael answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. During his time in the service, he began his law enforcement career with the Military Police (MP) division and received an Honorable Discharge in October of 1977. When he returned home, Michael was hired by the Warminster Township Police Department as a patrolman, and would serve both in their K-9 Unit and Narcotics Unit during his time with the township. He was then promoted to Sergeant and would eventually lead the Detective Division for Warminster Township. In 2003, Michael was then hired by the Bucks County District Attorney's Office as a detective and would remain with them for another 18 years, completely retiring on July 16, 2021. During his time in the Warminster Township Police, Michael would meet his future wife, Tina, in 1996. The two fell in love and were married on July 4, 2005.
Family and friends are invited to Michael's Life Celebration on Friday, October 18, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. and again on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 10:00 until 10:50 A.M. at Nativity of Our Lord Church, located at 605 W Street Road, Warminster. First I want to express my Sincerest Sympathy to his two sons and family.
My fondest memory of Officer Walp was when I started working for the Warminster Township Police Department as a secretary. He was always polite and pleasant.
He was devoted to his job and family. He had a good relationship with a German Shepard, who was his partner.

My fondest memory of Mike was when I was a secretary at the Warminster Township Police Department, back in 1981-82. He was always polite & pleasant. He was a good policeman & at that time he also had a German Shepard dog for a partner.

There are no words at a time like this. You all have my deepest & sincerest condolences/sympathies. We lived across the street from each other a long time ago & I even babysat his two boys (Ryan & Erik). MY HEART goes out to you all!
