I am so sorry to hear about Michael. Mike and I were neighbors growing up in Greenville. When they had horses at the fairgrounds, we would go fly kites out there while Dick was tending to the horses. He would invite me to go to VBS when we were younger. We were in the same class together, which had another Michael Washburn. One was Michael L and one Michael H. My deepest sympathy for all.

A Song of Life for Mike
Brightly colored leaves dance
As an autumn breeze freshens
A white dove gracefully takes flight
A generous soul quietly ascends
Amid grateful remembrances
From those he cared for
The vibrant green of Spring
Shines in a young tree
Tall and sturdy
Affirming that all Life
Comes from a single Source

I have known Mike for 39 years. We started working for McDonnell Douglas in St. Louis back in the middle eighties. We were in our twenties and would get together on our time off. We would go to Illinois occasionally and ski with a mutual friend.
We kept in touch over the years. He left the company and eventually worked at Lockheed Martin. I ended up working there also in 2019 at a different division. We always kept in touch. We shared many common interest and spoke often of the people we knew during our time at McDonnell Douglas. He was a dear friend. I miss him terribly. Our deepest condolences to the family.
