Michael J. Weierbach, Sr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael J. Weierbach Sr., age 61, of Somers Point. He passed away at home on March 24, 2025. Michael (Wires) was born on April 6, 1963 in Chestnut Hill, PA. He lived in Somers Point, NJ, graduated from Atlantic City High School and worked for Ventnor City Public Works for 37 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was a Volunteer Firemen for Somers Point Fire Company #1. He was a member of the fire company since 2019 and most recently served as their Safety Officer. Outside of his jobs, he had a passion for hunting, fishing, and most especially boating. Although Mike had many passions, none were as important to him as his family. He was a devoted father, brother, husband, and friend. He was known for his generosity, kindness, and witty personality. Mike is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Delpha. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dawna; his children, Michael Jr. and Tina; his brother, Joel; his brother, Steve and his wife, Marie; and his sisters, Brandy and Jennifer. Among many other things, Mike will be remembered for his friendly personality. Each person he came into contact with was considered an immediate friend. He was never hesitant to lend a helping hand to anyone in need; whether it be a lifelong friend or a complete stranger, you could count on him to have your back. Mike lived his life to the fullest, creating unforgettable memories through the things he loved and the people who meant the world to him. Those who were blessed to know him will honor his memory by embracing life with the same passion, kindness, and adventurous spirit that he did every day.

A viewing will be held on Monday, March 31, from 9 to 10:45 a.m., followed by Mass at 11 a.m., at St. James Church, 6415 Atlantic Ave., Ventnor. Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. Condolences may be extended to the family at ghwimberg.com.
