Michael Wilson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service - Kingfisher on Oct. 13, 2025.
Michael Eugene Wilson, 73, of Kingfisher, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 10, 2025, in Yukon, Oklahoma, after a short but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly.

Mike was born on July 10, 1952, in Vernon, Texas, to Delma "Slim" Wilson and Mary "Agnes" Wilson. He grew up alongside his brothers, Richard and Johnny, and graduated from Grant High School in 1971.

He began his long and successful career in the oilfield in 1980. Throughout the years, the company he worked for changed ownership several times, but his talent and dedication never went unnoticed-he was so good at his job that every new owner kept him on. Starting as a roustabout and working his way up to foreman, Mike gave 37 years to the oilfield before retiring in 2017.

After retirement, he continued doing what he loved-driving. He spent his time delivering cars for several dealerships in Kingfisher and enjoyed every mile of the road. Mike lived in southwest Oklahoma City for many years before moving to Yukon in the early 1990s. In the early 2000s, he made Kingfisher his forever home.

Mike loved golfing, a hobby he picked up after moving to Kingfisher, and could often be found on the course whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed woodworking-he could build just about anything-and never missed an OU football game. But above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandson, his little buddy, Braden.

Mike was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Kingfisher. He loved attending services and cherished the congregation, who meant so much to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Slim and Agnes Wilson, and his grandparents.

Mike is survived by his daughter, Kori Meschberger, and her husband, Mike; his grandson, Braden Russell, and his girlfriend, Kara; his son, Chris Wilson; brothers, Richard Wilson and wife Pat, and Johnny Wilson and wife Mendy; along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and even great-great-nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind countless friends who became like family.

Mike will be remembered as the best dad and papa, a hardworking man, and a friend to everyone who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mike will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, Octobre 24, 2025 at the Kingfisher First Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mike's memory to Wounded Warriors Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
