Michael Allen Wimmer

MICHAEL ALLEN WIMMER, 77 years of age of Patterson, VA, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at his home following a lengthy illness. Born in Bland County, VA, he was the son of the late Hubert Harold and Mabel Lois (Hall) Wimmer. He was a longtime resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Vansant Church of Christ for many years. Mike proudly served our country in the United States Army and was a member of Childs Gentry Post No. 7360 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and was a former State Trooper and employee of Keen Mountain Correctional Center. He loved spending time on the golf course and with his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda A. Wimmer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Phyllis Ann (Jackson) Wimmer of Patterson, VA; sons, Jeff Wimmer (wife Sharon and daughter Lauren) and David Wimmer (wife Lara and sons Jack and Benjamin); Sister: Patricia Ballard; Bonus Son: Gregory Jackson (wife Missy and son Austin (Bell) Jackson); Bonus Daughter: Debbie Baker (husband Allen and children Adam (Sarah) McCoy and Brittany (Nick) Moore); Bonus Great-Grandchildren: Asher McCoy, Walker McCoy, Bennett Moore and Baby Jackson on the way!

Visitation will be held Sunday evening at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M. with full military rites by members of Childs Gentry Post No. 7360 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and John Ratliff Post No. 164 of the American Legion. Ronnie Kinder and Anthony Hale will be officiating the services.
Graveside Services for MICHAEL ALLEN WIMMER will be conducted Monday, June 16, 2025, at 1:00 P.M. at the Temple Hill Cemetery, Bland, VA, with burial to follow.
Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
