Michael Wittkop Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Daniels & Hutchison Funeral Home - Middletown on Mar. 24, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael J. Wittkop, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. Mike passed away at home after a lengthy illness in Smyrna, Delaware, on March 18, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was 68 years old.
Born on July 29, 1954, in Trenton, New Jersey, Mike spent most of his life in Pennington, New Jersey. He was the son of the late Charles J. Wittkop Jr. and Doris (Robins) Wittkop. He was a graduate of Hopewell Valley Central High School and the Dealership Academy.
Mike was a hardworking man who spent most of his career in the trucking industry, selling trucks. He took pride in his work and was well-respected by his colleagues and clients. When he was not working, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, indulging in his passions for history, reading, John Deere tractors, gardening, the New York Yankees, football and NASCAR. He also looked forward to Sunday breakfasts with his family.
Mike was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 40 years, Donna Miller Wittkop. Together they raised four children: one son, Charles J. "CJ" Wittkop III, and three daughters, Charleen Lane (Richard Lane), Michelle DiDonato (Michael), and Stefanie Wittkop (Stephen Reed). He was a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Nicholas Wittkop, William Wittkop, Jacob Wittkop, Matthew Wittkop, James Tassone, Connor Lane, Mikayla McGuire, and Michael Didonato. He loved spending time with his family and was always there when they needed him. Mike is also survived by three brothers, Charles Raymond Wittkop, David Wittkop and W. Jeffrey Wittkop, and a dear special niece, Heather Dempsey, as well as many other nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Services will be private.
