Michele "Mickey" Ford, a beacon of love and friendship, passed away on September 4, 2025, in Evansville, IN, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and selflessness. Born on July 26, 1954, in Detroit, MI, Michele's life was a testament to the power of positivity and the strength of human connection.

Michele's journey began as the cherished daughter of George and Janice Ford, and she grew up alongside her siblings, George and the late Cheryl Ford. Her life was a tapestry woven with the love of her family, including her companion Clif Payne, her devoted son, Danny Erkman, Jr.(Stacy Goad), and her treasured grandson, Kyle Erkman. Michele's heart knew no bounds, and she shared her infectious spirit with her brother George, his wife Lisa, and a circle of friends-Linda, Rose, Roxie, and Kim-who became her chosen family.

For over two decades, Michele was a dedicated employee at Toyota, where she was not only a valued team member but also a source of inspiration and camaraderie. Her commitment to her work was paralleled only by her involvement in her community, where she was known for her passion and her willingness to lend a helping hand.

Michele's zest for life was evident in everything she did. She was the social butterfly of her family and friends, always the first to gather everyone together and the last to say goodbye. Her favorite haunt, the Hornet's Nest, was not just a place but a symbol of the joy she found in companionship and conversation.

Described by those who knew her best as friendly, selfless, and passionate, Michele embodied the spirit of generosity. She was the kind of person who never hesitated to give her time, her ear, and her heart to anyone in need. Michele's ability to care for others was unmatched, and she did so with grace and joy.

Let us remember Michele Ford as the embodiment of kindness, the epitome of a life well-lived. Her legacy is not one of sorrow but one of celebration-a reminder to cherish every moment, to love fiercely, and to always be the friend that others can turn to in times of need. Michele's memory will continue to motivate and encourage us to embrace life with open arms and to spread kindness wherever we go.

As we bid farewell to Michele, let us carry forward the light she shone on all of our lives. Her story is not one of an ending but a lasting influence that will continue to resonate through the lives of those she touched. Michele Ford, your presence was a gift to the world, and your spirit will forever be a guiding star for us all.

Mickey and I were in the same homeroom at North High School. We lost touch after graduation but my memory of her was her smile, laughter, and friendship. Rest in peace, Mickey.
