Michele Poyet- Fields went to our Lord on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Brookdale Assisted Living in
Mt. Vernon, Ohio, previously of Pickerington, Ohio.
She was 76 years old, born September 28, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio to Fredric and Donna Mae (Forrester) Poyet.
Michele had two children with her second husband, Loren Allen Fields, their daughters: Joellen Janette and Olivia Margot.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents Fred and Donna Poyet, her younger sister Jonelle Hamilton, aunts, uncles, both exes, and dear cousins Elaine Frame, Eileen Wright, and Doug Poyet.
Michele is survived by her younger brother Mark Allen (Pamela) Poyet, daughters: Joellen Janette (Eli) Lepley, Olivia Margot Harvey (Derek Hilderbrand), grandchildren: Abigail Harvey (Mason Fansler), Samantha Harvey, and Roxanne Harvey, and step- grandchildren: David Lepley and Kathryn Lepley. Nieces and nephews: Jared (Andrea) Poyet, Morgan (Bobby) Dunlap, and Kelly Hamilton, several cousins including Steve (Rosemary) Poyet and Sue Poyet.
Michele graduated from Reynoldsburg High School in 1967. She worked for State Farm Insurance, Ramada Inn, then as a homemaker when she had "JJ", she then worked for Aetna Life and Causality, and Gates McDonald. She was most recently employed by Nationwide Insurance until she became diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis.
Michele was raised in the church of Christ and a member of Laurel Canyon church of Christ for the past 50+yrs.
She loved barber shop harmony and sang baritone in the Scioto Valley Chorus in the Dublin, Ohio chapter of Sweet Adelines International. These were her happiest years, singing alongside her mother, sister, church family and many friends.
In her youth she loved her summers at Camp Hervida church camp. As an adult, she loved our family vacations to North Myrtle Beach. She loved her dogs Scooter, Mac, Max and Wally Doe Doe. She also enjoyed crosswords, reading the dictionary for fun, comedies, muscle cars and cruise-ins, the Ohio Renaissance Faire, her kids and grandkids band performances, and anything Ohio State, flamingo or peacock related.
She will be remembered for her quick whit, her 'Leta Michele' stubbornness that she inherited from her paternal grandmother, and we'll remember her very fondly for her love of chocolate milk- she made the best chocolate milk... and it healed so many things.
