Michelle Ann Hammond (Fleury)
November 4, 1966 – October 21, 2025
Michelle Ann Hammond, born on November 4, 1966, in Springfield, Massachusetts, to
Leonard Jean Fleury and Anna Marie Tomossanni, passed away peacefully on October
21, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was 58 years old.
At the age of 9, Michelle moved with her family to Houston, Texas, where she spent the
rest of her life. It was there, at just 10 years old, that she met her lifelong best friend,
Pam Stilwell. In high school, they were joined by Toby Shangtapin, and the trio became
inseparable.
Michelle graduated from Clear Creek High School in 1984 and went on to earn her
associate degree in Interior Design from San Jacinto College in 1988. During her
younger years, she worked at Ron's Crispy Fried Chicken, where she met Scott
Hammond. Though life took them in different directions, fate brought them back
together nearly 40 years later through social media. Their bond rekindled instantly, and
they were married on April 18, 2021.
Professionally, Michelle dedicated nearly 15 years to Daltile and most recently worked
as a showroom designer at Quality Floors & More, where her creativity and warmth left
a lasting impression.
Michelle had a deep love for the arts. In her free time, she could often be found painting
or drawing, and she had a special passion for nature photography. Her creativity was
matched only by her vibrant spirit and ever-present smile.
She is survived by her father Leonard Fleury (Peggy), her three brothers Michael Fleury
(Susanna), Christopher Fleury (Teresa), and Lenny Fleury (Amanda); her two sons
Taylor Griffith and Austen Hammond (Brandy); her beloved grandson Tyler Hammond;
and many cherished cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Marie.
Michelle lived life to the fullest, finding joy in the simple things, especially time spent
outdoors and with her loving husband, Scott. Her light, laughter, and love will be deeply
missed by all who knew her.
The family will have a celebration of life at a date to be determined.
