Michelle Haws Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jul. 23, 2025.
Michelle Anne Haws, a lifelong resident of Macomb County and most recently of Romeo, passed away peacefully at her home on July 8, 2025, at the age of 74.

Born on January 23, 1951, in Mount Clemens, Michelle was the beloved daughter of Eugene Philip and Ruth Loraine (née Mast) Haws. She was raised in Shelby Township alongside her siblings and graduated from Utica High School. Michelle later worked in food service at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester, where she found purpose in helping care for others.

Rooted in her Lutheran faith throughout her life, Michelle found quiet strength in her beliefs. She was truly her own person-uniquely spirited, determined, and unwavering in her desire to live life on her own terms. Despite the challenges she faced, Michelle strove for independence and approached life with a quiet resilience that deeply touched those who knew her.

In her free time, Michelle found joy in watching movies. She had a special fondness for Little Women and The Color Purple, films she could watch over and over without tiring from. Michelle also had a heartfelt love for the Christmas season. She delighted in holiday decorations and in listening to Christmas music, no matter the time of year.

Michelle is survived by her siblings, Michael (Anna) Haws and Mary Haws. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Ruth Haws, and by her brother, Mark Haws.
