Publish in a newspaper

Doris A. Haws, 93, of Hamilton, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at her home in Hamilton.

Born in Trenton, she was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Trenton High School, Class of '49. Doris worked for Bell Tell as one of the "Bell Tell Girls" in Trenton. She carried many fond memories and lasting friendships from her time there.

In her younger years, Doris enjoyed keeping active. She loved skiing, was a very adept swimmer, and dedicated as much time as she could to playing tennis. She was not one to turn down adventure or to walk softly. Doris liked to drive fast and spend time at LBI, soaking up the sun and the surf. In her spare time, she was a voracious reader and truly reveled in a good book. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy. She knitted them sweaters and hats when they were babies and loved watching them grow up.

Predeceased by her parents, Donald and Theresa (Kestler) Knoblauch and her loving husband and partner of 55 years, James Donald Haws, Sr.; her memory and spirit will be carried on by her sons and their spouses, James Haws, Jr. and Susan, and Richard Haws and Annarose; her grandchildren, Emily, Amy, Donald, and Thomas; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will begin on Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ.

Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. as well as on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Doris' memory to The Seeing Eye at SeeingEye.org.
