The world lost an amazing and loved woman, Michelle Lopez, 47, she passed away surrounded by family on 09/29/2025 at UNM hospital. Michelle was a long-time resident of Los Lunas; she grew up on Los Lentes with her loving grandmother Barbara Apodaca. Michelle is survived by her spouse Tony Sanchez, her five children Taneshea (30), Adrian (27), Alexis (24), Azia (18), and Jada (16). Her memory also lives on through her Nieces and nephews, her siblings, her In-laws, her grandfather, and many loving friends. Michelle was preceded in death by her grandmother Barbara who she now joins in their eternal home watching over us and guiding us.

Michelle was a devoted wife and mother she catered to her family and jumped at the ask of anyone, it was her way of letting people know she loved you and that she would always be there for you no matter what it was. Michelle loved spending time with her husband Tony and cherished their trips as a family and will always remember their solo Vegas trip, definitely one for the books. She loved spending her time with her children whether it be sitting home and watching Lifetime movies, talking around the table as a family, playing board games, taking family trips out of town, heading out to the lake, going on sneaky shopping sprees, or really anything that involved being with her babies she was the best mother anyone could have asked for. She also shared a special bond with her beloved Niece Brianna; she loved her as a sixth child and shared a bond that could not be broken. The memories that will last forever will be those late nights at Cosmic Bingo, having their midnight snacks, and those last-minute projects Michelle would help bring to life.

When people think of the first person to call for anything, Michelle would be the first person to pop up in someone's mind whether it be just to talk and vent, get advice, or to ask what is she making for dinner so they could go by and join. She had a unique way of making you feel loved and welcomed whoever you were and no matter what your age she was just a momma bear to all. She was known for her hearty laugh and kind heart, she was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be missed dearly. Her home was always open, serving as a gathering place for family and friends during holiday celebrations, everyone's birthday and impromptu family meetings (which really just turned into a battle of phase 10 or some other game to bring everyone together). Michelle had that spark to bring life and brightness anywhere she went. She just wanted everyone to be happy and joyous and have a fun time all the time.

A celebration of Michelle's life will be starting at 9:30 a.m. at Calvary Chapel 701 Main Street Northeast A, Los Lunas, NM 87031, the family welcomes you to join and bring a picture or a letter to add to her memory box. Flowers will be accepted and can be delivered to the Chapel day of 8:15 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. Following her services we will gather for a meal and head over to Los Lentes Cemetery where we lay her to rest.
