WAREHAM - With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Michelle (Gordon) MacConnell, age 61, on May 2, 2025, after a sudden illness. A vibrant spirit and authenticity remained with her until the end.
Born on July 10, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri to Nadine and Dr. Morris Gordon. Michelle lived a life characterized by boundless generosity and a passionate approach to everything she did.
Michelle and her husband, Grant, owned and operated the Onset Bay Blues Cafe for many years. She was also employed by the Chrysler Corporation. Those who knew her will forever remember her feisty spirit and compassion for others. Her infectious laugh filled a room. A willingness to speak her mind endeared her to friends and family alike.
Michelle was a woman of many interests. Her passions included motorcycles, cars, art, music and birds. Her generosity extended to the community as an active member of both the local Elks and Eagles clubs. Michelle's sense of adventure and genuine kindness drew people to her, creating a cherished circle of friends who became an important part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Grant MacConnell. Michelle is survived by her mother, Nadine Gordon; brothers Ken Gordon and wife, Lucy; Greg Gordon and wife, Margaret. Michelle became a part of Grant's large family that includes step-daughters, Stephanie Kane and Shannon Madden; sister-in-law, Susan MacConnell; grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her close circle of friends were like family to her. Her dog, Lulu, and parrot, Sydney, brought joy and laughter into her life.
Michelle's legacy of kindness, generosity, and a zest for life will continue through all those whose lives she touched. We are comforted knowing that her vibrant spirit will live on in our hearts and memories.
A celebration of Michelle's life will be held this summer, and will include family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
We wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Boston Medical Center for their compassionate care. We will be forever grateful and comforted by the love and support provided by Michelle's close friends during her final days.
