Having had the pleasure of being Michelle's next-door neighbor for around a decade (at the time), she had shown nothing but kindness to me. As a generous host during holiday parties or spontaneous get-togethers at her home, or simply as someone who would wave to me on my way to and from the bus stop. Despite not being as close to her as countless others certainly are (my mother being one of them), I believe her impact on my life was still a very important one.

My condolences to Michelle's family and friends, and best wishes to them going forward.
