Our darling, cherished and incredibly beautiful wife, mother, sister, grandmother and affectionate “Mammy” passed away unexpectedly at age 76 on 30 September 2025.
Mickey was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada to Robert Wellington Charmbury and Rhoda Patricia Hamilton as the third of six children. She was recognized as an academically gifted child and placed in special advanced classes during her elementary school years. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with an Elementary School Teaching Certificate.
Mickey and her husband were married on 17 June 1971 in the Cardston Alberta Temple. She was the loving mother of her six darling and accomplished children who adore her. She moved with her husband and their first baby from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Lansing, Michigan where her husband joined the US Air Force and together they began an incredible family adventure. She received her US citizenship and became the most devoted and enthusiastic flag-waving Yankee on earth. She willingly uprooted from everything familiar numerous times to relocate to many different Air Force assignments with all the chaos that such military moves entail, going from Pilot Training in Arizona, then to Washington, followed by California and then to the US Air Force Academy in Colorado, then to Utah State University, and back again to the Air Force Academy and finally to Guam where she and her husband retired from Air Force active-duty in 1995 and moved to Logan Utah. After her husband’s graduate training was completed, she worked with him as the Patient Care Coordinator at Bridgerland Audiology for nearly 20-years and they especially loved their time working together.
She was a faithful and devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Junior Primary Coordinator, Young Women’s President, Relief Society President and many others. She also served for almost 14-years in the Logan Temple, most of those years as a Sealing Secretary where she helped and greeted patrons with her warm and radiant smile. She was currently serving with her husband teaching Primary for the 6-7-year olds, one of her all-time favorite callings, and especially loved those she affectionately termed the “babies” in their class. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and passionately loved her family and the Restoration and is deeply and eternally loved and admired by her husband, family and countless others in return.
Whenever she answered phone calls from her husband, he would ask “Is this my darling Mammy speaking?” or “Is this my darling trophy wife”, to which she would always reply “Well duh, of course”. She filled up her van with child car seats and would look for every opportunity to be with her grandchildren who affectionately called her Mammy. And when the grandchildren were younger she would drag a van-full of them everywhere with her to do her shopping or wherever else she needed to go, cheerfully buckling them in and out of their car seats at every stop and taking them all with her into the stores. No mean feat, but she loved it. She especially loved to hear the grandchildren enter her home and call out “Mammy” so she could come to greet and hug them.
She is reunited now with her father, mother and brother as well as other loving family members who preceded her to the Spirit World and who no doubt lovingly greeted her at her coming. She had a beautifully warm and sweet smile, an incredibly infectious laugh, a kind and loving nature as well as a radiant natural beauty and divine character that she shared with the entire human family. She had “Service” written on her heart and was the first to jump up and help in every situation.
She is survived by her eternal companion, Dr. Robert L B Stevenson, who is forever grateful for the more than 55-years they spent together sharing their love, and with their wonderful children, Heather I P McKay (Craig), Robert L B Stevenson, Jr. Esq (Anna), Scott W M Stevenson (Korby), Holly E E Mathews (Bryce), Heidi C A Mitchell (Gary) and Dr. Mark J S Stevenson (Melanie) as well as 28 grandbabies, as she always called them, regardless of their age, and 5 great-grandbabies.
A viewing will be held at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street, Logan, UT on Friday evening 10 October 2025 from 6:00-8:00pm and funeral at the 29th Ward building, 792 North 500 East, Logan, UT on Saturday 11 October 2025 with viewing from 9:30am-10:30am and funeral at 11:00am.
Mickey’s family wishes to especially thank the Logan EMTs and Logan Police for their rapid response and intensive and professional efforts trying to save her and Dr. Nathan Call, our Family Physician, who took such wonderful care of her through the years. She is now safely home to await her adoring husband and dear family members when they have also faithfully completed their mortal probations.
