Mike Burnett, age 58, went to his Heavenly home on September 13, 2024. Mike was born to John Burnett and Frances Orr Burnett in Fort Worth, Texas on January 19, 1966.
Mike loved to tell the "corniest dad jokes" possible. He was strong in his faith and love for GOD. He was a huge history buff. Mike loved his wife dearly along with his daughters and grandkids.
Mike never met a stranger. He was always quick to help someone in need even if it meant giving his own shirt off his back. He was an avid hunter and gun enthusiast. Mike made some of the best BBQ that you have ever tasted. His "Tater Salad" could either start or end a war. Many battles have been fought between his daughters at family gatherings, in regards to his tater salad.
Mike always tried to find a positive side of things. He loved his big kahuna shirts. He was loved by many and he was also a jack of all trades.
Mike had a grin that could light up a room. He was a gentle giant. He may have looked intimidating to some but he was a big ole teddy bear.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
Mike was survived by: wife, Joan Burnett; daughter, Kayla Burnett; daughter, Meghunn Leatch and husband Edward Leatch; son-in-law, Fred Collins; grandkids, Kaden Manning, Thomas Collins, Makena Gonzalez; siblings: sister, Cindy Smajstrla and husband Mark Smajstrla; brother, James Burnett and wife Cindy Burnett; sister, Jodie Black and husband Anthony Black; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 21, 2024, beginning at 1:00 PM at the Wiley Funeral Home Chapel, Granbury, Texas.
