Leikness Funeral Home - WautomaMike Husslein passed away May 12, 2025 while doing the thing he loved, biking!
He was born February 13,1949 in Milwaukee, WI to Earl and Audrey (Werner) Husslein. A graduate of Brookfield East High School Class of 67' and the Culinary Arts Program at MATC. He spent working life in the food business beginning as a chef working in the kitchens of local country clubs and moving on to the Food Service Business working as a seafood buyer. He loved the business of haranguing seafood sales people and brokers from coast to coast.
He was the proud father of Jennifer (Brant) Haenel of Edina, MN and the loving Papa of Lucas and Sam. He also leaves behind his love Nancy Hornberger and his pooch Fiona of Wautoma, WI. Although he loved to play the role of a curmudgeon, in reality he was a real softie. He was an extremely hard worker and would help anyone in need. In retirement, Mike loved biking, fishing, and golf. He kept a journal of golf scores "good"..."so so"..."awful".
Mike's request there will be no formal funeral. He often said "just cremate me and throw my ashes in Tanner Creek". Will do honey". A Celebration of Life will be held from 12 noon until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13th at Fowler Park, 500 Oakwood Ave. Oconomowoc, WI 53066. Mike was a much loved and respected man. He will be deeply missed beyond words.
