Michael Kreyger passed away on April 21, 2025, at the age of 70. He was a loving and supportive husband, son, father, and friend.
Michael was born on May 29, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan to Jeanne and John Kreyger. Michael was the second born of three children. His two brothers, Dave and Ron, which he loved tremendously and wholeheartedly.
Growing up, Michael went to St. Peter's Lutheran school and would graduate high school from East Detroit. He grew up on Eastwood Blvd where he would meet Carol - who became the love of his life for 46 years.
Michael joined the Navy in 1974 where he became an Aircraft Mechanic. He traveled all over the world and was on an Aircraft carrier for 3 years. While in the Navy, he earned the National Defense Service Medal. He was honorably discharged in 1978. He enjoyed his time in the service and was able to experience many countries' cultures and became an avid diver.
Michael came home to start his life with Carol Dickson and create a family. He would marry Carol on February 16, 1979. During his life, he worked as a manager of hotels and was a manager of maintenance and head of custodial staff at a few different companies.
Michael and Carol have two daughters, Leanne and Krysta. Being a father was his favorite job of all. He made it a priority to be the best father and be supportive, and he was exactly that. He never missed a game, concert, event, whether big or small, or an opportunity to build a costume or science project.
Michael took pride in his family and offered his help and love to anyone who needed it. Whether his immediate or extended family, or friends of his daughters, coworkers, or a stranger in need, Michael would be the first to lend a hand or make sure they felt they were part of the family.
In retirement, Michael enjoyed spending time with his wife. Whether it was going on car rides or breakfast and dinner dates, each moment meant everything to him.
Michael's smile lit up a room, and his laugh was infectious. His resilience, strength, and hard work was unmatched. He made sure to pass those qualities on to his family and anyone else in his life.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife Carol Kreyger, mother Jeanne Kreyger, daughter Leanne Duff (Richie Duff), daughter Krysta Kreyger (Kip Hurley), brother Ron Kreyger (Susan Kreyger), sister-In-laws, Kathy (Joe) Barraco, Jennifer (Terrence) Mcclorey, Nancy (George) Dickson-Clark, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his father John Kreyger, brother Dave Kreyger, and his father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Mildred Dickson.
