Funeral services for Mr. Mike Misner, age 81, of Foss, will begin at 10:00 am Friday, December 27, 2024, in the Kiesau Memorial Chapel, 2500 W Modelle Ave in Clinton with Mr. Doyle Kinney officiating.
Mike was born on Tuesday, February 23, 1943, in Vintondale, Pennsylvania the son of Merton and Pauline (Bodzer) Misner. He was raised on the family farm in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania graduating from Beaver Falls High School in 1963. After high school, Mike focused his interests on farming and remained active in agriculture until moving to Oklahoma in 1992.
He passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, in the Bell Avenue Nursing Home in Elk City, OK.
Mike settled in the Foss, OK area owning and operating M & D Pizza and Burritos in Burns Flat, OK from 1993 to 1996. Mike was a man of deep faith, centering his life around Jesus Christ. He was quick to share his faith and encourage others to place their trust and confidence in Christ. He attended the First Baptist Church of Clinton.
Mike also loved to garden. He could often be seen climbing trees and mowing yards, all adding to his passion for being outdoors and enjoying nature's beauty. Mike was a simple man who loved and appreciated the value of hard work. In his later years, Mike enjoyed driving the Jamboree Bus for the Clinton AARP from 2010 to 2016. He enjoyed the many relationships and conversations he had with many of his friends on the bus.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Mike is survived by his wife, Pamela Misner of the home; three sons, Michael Misner and his wife, Jill; Tim Misner and his wife, Rachel; and Justin Misner and his wife, Morgan; two daughters, Carol Sue Brown and her husband, Ted and Margie Simmons and her husband, Josh; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial will conclude in the Elk City Fairlawn Cemetery in Elk City, Oklahoma.
Funeral arrangements for Mike and his family have been placed in the care of the Kiesau-Lee Funeral Home of Clinton, Oklahoma.
