Michael F. Moore of Honey Grove, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on June 2, 2025. He fought a courageous fight against cancer; his strength, easy-going personality, integrity and positivity will be deeply missed.
Mike was born on February 6, 1959, to Magness and Peggie Moore in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in Grand Prairie, Texas. Mike is survived by his loving family, including his mother, Peggie Moore; his wife, Gailyn Moore; his children, Melissa Moore, Michael F. Moore Jr., and Rachel Wadley; his ten beloved grandchildren, Hunter Wells, Meredith Wells, Kalob Loftice, Ely Loftice, Naomi Loftice, Micha Wadley, Paislee Wadley, Skylar Moore, Benji Fleming and Jolene Moore; his great-grandchild, Willow Johnson; and extended family.
Mike was a beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather, a devoted family man. In his professional life, he most recently worked at the North Texas Municipal Water District, where he drove an 18-wheeler. He enjoyed his coworkers, many of whom he considered friends. Mike cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. He loved golfing, fishing, and spending time on his boat. Creating memories and spending time at home were important to him. Mike was the glue of the family, displaying grace and love that was bigger than life itself. He had a heart of gold, always the peacemaker and doing the right thing. He was an amazing dad and grandad, making sure he attended as many games, performances, and events as he could.
Mike was an incredible person to all who knew him, his legacy will live on through the countless lives he has touched. His story and kind heart will always be a part of those who loved him.
Funeral Service for Mike Moore will be Sunday, June 8 at 2:00pm. It will be a grave side service at Allen's Point Cemetery located at 337 CR 2770 Honey Grove, TX 75446. Dress should be business/dressy.
Directly Following the service, we will have a celebration of life at Allen's Point Community Center (just next door to the cemetery) If you would like to change into your Hawaiian shirt or throw on a baseball cap in honor of Mike at the celebration of life that would be so fun!
In lieu of Flowers the family has requested that you make a donation to MD Anderson Cancer Center or The American Cancer Association in the name of Michael F Moore Sr.

I´ll never forget going down the Guadalupe River with you. I promised your Mom Peggie we would be very careful and nothing would happen to you. I meant to keep that promise. I felt her love and concern for you in a major manner. I was in the front of the raft and you were in the back with our ice chest. You were happy! About 30 minutes into our white water rapid ride (the river was fast and furious that year) I see this dark head of hair beside me going as fast if not faster than the raft! I grabbed you by the hair on your head! I pulled you close to the raft and with your athleticism you were able to climb back in even though we were in the rapids! When the river slowed, I was thankful but a little hysterical. I said, "Your Mother is going to kill me!" Mike you just laughed and laughed. We finished the entire trip down the river. I miss your laugh, I miss you making me laugh, I miss your gorgeous eyes! Mike Moore you are gone way to soon! I love you always! Becky Reed
