Miladin "Mike" Jovanovic

Miladin "Mike" Jovanovic, age 87, long-time resident of Chicago, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2025. Born July 17, 1937 in Puškovac, Yugoslavia to the late Dusan and the late Milka Jovanovic, he was the beloved husband of Dana (52 years); loving father of Nadezda (Michael) Palumbo and Bato (Lindsey) Jovanovic; cherished grandfather of Michael, Matthew, Mia, and Lainey; dear uncle of Dusko and Mišo and their families in Yugoslavia; fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Upon his graduation from high school, he attended University in Sarajevo obtaining his degrees in History and Teaching. An avid reader, Mike would go the local library daily to take in the day's news from the paper or to immerse himself in a good book. He took pleasure in gardening and was a hard worker. Mike is remembered as a generous and kind man, and a doting husband, father, and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by Kumovi, family and friends in the United States and throughout the former Yugoslavia.
Visitation Friday, April 25, 2025 10 a.m. at New Gracanica Serbian Orthodox Monastery, 35240 W. Grant Ave, Third Lake, until time of Opelo (Funeral Service) 11 a.m. Interment New Gracanica Cemetery.
