Milagros Vega

Milagros Vega was born on December 7, 1949, in Yauco, Puerto Rico. She was the fourth child, out of 12, of Graciliano Vega and Julia Montalvo. She grew up in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. There she helped to take care of her younger sisters and tend to the family farm.
The family moved to New Haven during her teenage years. There, she began a courtship with the love of her life, Josue Vega. They married on April 27, 1974. Their family grew with the birth of their sons, Josue Vega, Jr., Jaime Vega, and Miguel Vega.
Her sons made her a grandmother to 10 grandchildren, whom she adored. Josue, III, Olivia, Jeremiah, Samantha, Jaime, Lucas, Haddasah, Hannah, Zechariah, and Hailee. They were all her pride and joy.
Milagros was a faithful member of the Star of Jacob Christian Church of the Assemblies of God, located in the Hill Section of New Haven. She made that her place of worship for 44 years.
Milagros is survived by her sons, grandchildren; Sisters, Carmen Milagros Vega, Maria Luisa Vega, Amparo Vega, Aurelia Vega, Dolores Vega, Confesora Vega, Haydee Vega, Aurea E. Vega, and Maria Jesus Vega.
She is predeceased by her husband Josue Vega (2017); Sisters, Margarita Vega and Maria Engracia Vega. We thank you for your love, sacrifice, and dedication to your family. We love you and will see you soon.
