Mildred Lucille Dill Crouch age 99, of Chickamauga, Georgia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday – June 27, 2024. She was born in Harrison, Tennessee on March 4, 1925 to the late Charlie and Emma Humphries Dill. She lived in the Harrison area on what was known as the old Bell place during her younger years until the family had to move out during construction of the Chickamauga Dam and "backing up" of the water to form Chickamauga Lake and Harrison Bay area. Mildred loved to tell the family and anyone that she met about the time they took a school bus from the Ooltewah School to the dedication of the Dam and she was able to see and hear President Roosevelt speak. After a few years of moving to work at farms her family moved to Chickamauga where she attended school at Gordon Lee Memorial High School. She was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Chickamauga, GA. Along with her husband, they were the former owners and operators of Luke's Quick Check in the Pond Springs area. She loved doing Bible word find puzzles and crocheting. She had been a resident of the Chickamauga area for the past seventy-seven years. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: Luther "Luke" Dexter Crouch, their daughter: Dianne Brown, grandson: Keith Cross, foster son: Joey Ellison, three sisters and five brothers. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Brenda & Danny Cross of Soddy-Daisy, TN, Gail & Milton Chambers of Mentone, AL, David Brown, Sr. of Kensington, GA, bonus son: Lenny Viverito, niece: Norma McDaniel both of Chickamauga, GA, grandchildren: Daniel (LaShonda) Cross of Chickamauga, GA, Karla Arnold of Chickamauga, GA, Kami (Brian) Gentry of Rock Spring, GA, David (Angela) Brown II, bonus grandson" Barry Arnold all of Chickamauga, GA, Kim & John Johnson of Mentone, AL, Krissy & Phil Harris of Valley Head, AL, Kevin & Kayla Worthey of Fort Payne, AL, fourteen great-grandchildren, eight great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice for their care of Mildred and a special thank you to Johanna, Tiffany, Georgette for their compassionate care. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM Friday and Saturday morning after 11:00 AM prior to the service at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm – Saturday – June 29, 2024 in the chapel with David Brown, Sr., and David Brown, II officiating.
