Mildred 'Patricia' Folmer, age 89, of Erie, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at Manchester Commons.
She was born January 8th, 1936, in Baxter, PA, a daughter to the late Perry and Gertrude (Knapp) Schrecengost.
Patricia graduated from Penn Hills High School, class of 1953. She worked in food service for many years, ultimately retiring from Millcreek Schools. Her passion was in social justice, having a heart for the underserved. She had a lifelong devotion to her family and was loved by everyone she met. She was a member of the VFW Post #470; the American Legion Millcreek Post #773, where she served in the Color Guard. She was a member of Church of the Cross and longtime member of the Presbyterian Churches. Patricia loved to sing, having participated in various church choirs. She enjoyed theatre and art; was always humble, selfless, and giving.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernice “Bucky” Folmer; first husband, Donald Clutter; two sons, Donald and Michael Clutter; and a daughter, Deborah Ellis.
Patricia is survived by two daughters, Patricia Oscar and Sandra Long and her husband, Matthew; grandchildren, Michael Clutter (Michelle), Shawn Bradley (Kate), Christine Coniglio (Jeremy), Sonja Sleigh (Brian), Melissa Leszek, Kirsten Moonan (Scott), and Kelsey Rispin (Julia); twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother, James Schrecengost; sister, Gerry “Lynn” Schrecengost; and special friend, Bernie Weist. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn-Scott Funeral Home, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., on Sunday, March 9th from 2 until 5 PM, and are invited to a service there on Monday at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Erie Humane Society, 2407 Zimmerly Rd., Erie, PA 16506 or to Blended Spirits Ranch, 7401 McCray Rd., Fairview, PA 16415, in Patricia’s name.
