Mildred Marie Perry Gilbert passed away on August 26, 2025 in Duncan, Oklahoma.

Funeral services have been set for Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:00 am at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Sessums officiating. She will lie in state thirty minutes prior to the service for those wishing to sign the guest book. Interment will be at Forest Grove Cemetery in Telephone, Texas at 1:00 PM.

She was born February 17, 1924 in Bluff, Oklahoma to Marian R. Perry and Nora Estelle Baker Perry. She was married to Harold Gilbert on August 24, 1948 in Cooke County, Texas.

Mildred had ten children. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents, three daughters, Naomi Sessums, Mary Barnett, and Linda, who died as a child. Also two sons, Jack and Kenneth Gilbert, and three brothers, George, Floyd, and Dude Perry.

She is survived by daughters, Janette McMinn and husband Rick of Longview, Sally Voirin of Paris, and Jo Ann Bynum of Velma, Oklahoma; and sons, David Gilbert of Paris, and Robert Gilbert and wife Nelda of Paris; also many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mildred was a kind individual who helped many neighborhood children and people of all ages who were hungry and in need. Many of the children called her grandma.

Mildred was funny and witty. She was also tough and determined, as evidenced by her 101 years of life. She loved her family dearly, and loved to have family get-togethers, especially the gatherings to celebrate her birthdays.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Justin Anderson, Kenny Gilbert, Johnny Gilbert, Jason Oliver, Logan Oliver and Matt Taylor.

I can not say enough about my Grandma I loved her so much. She loved me for 55 years as the oldest grand daughter and I never knew anything less. She was so proud of her grandbabies but when my son had his baby her great great grandbaby she was so estastic. My parents never seen him but she did and that was so special to me.. I am jealous you beat me there. I love you with my whole heart hug momma your baby for me. And tell my Daddy I love him. Until we meet again fly high your work is done Grandma!
